Suddenly, Ron Marvin, interior designer, has entered my consciousness.

I was doing an online search using the term “masculine design” and stumbled onto a really great blog called The Craft Begins, where she has a post about the work of Ron Marvin inspired by seeing his work in a new online magazine called LonnyMag.com.

The very next day, I saw this article in The New York Times about a designer and client relationship that, though strained, resulted in really good work on a really small budget. The designer? Ron Marvin.
There’s a kind of magic that happens with some models; Roger is definitely one of those models. This image came from the first long weekend we spent shooting for his site, way back when… and it’s always been a favorite of mine. The combination of sensuality and masculinity that is reflected in the subject, lighting and setting is palpable.

As if the trials and tribulations he has written about his own life and times weren’t enough, here’s the New York Times coverage of what’s been going on with his home, his ex, and more.
First of all, let me say I love my own home. I do. About to hit 3 years since BF and I moved in and loving it more now than even when it was brand new back then. But now and again I see a house someone else has done and just lust for it. Such is Blake Dollahite’s place.
And, to boot, the spread he’s done online is tremendous as well: home + furniture
Enjoy.
