Tempest in a Sexpot

Last week I announced that Jason Adonis and I were accepting reservations (pre-orders) of his new DVD, “Jason Adonis Live & Direct, Vol. 1: JASON’S FIRST TIME”. The dramatic responses from that announcement were a big surprize to me; first QueerMeNow thought this “might teach Falcon Studios a lesson”, then Jason Curious calls Jason Adonis a “hustler”! Meanwhile, on my own Muscle Service Station Forums, there have been intimations of a David vs. Goliath story going on in the XcoMedia vs. Falcon Studios product announcements.

Of course, all this brouhaha is good promotion for both our titles. There has yet to be a mention of our product that has not also mentioned Falcon’s. I certainly don’t mind that, since the guys at Falcon have always been good friends of Bannon Industries, and none of what has transpired with the pre-release announcement of the new DVD has been intended to preempt the success of their project with Jason — nor could it!

To set the record straight, I wanted to post a chronology of events surrounding this situation, from my perspective:

1. Some time last year I was contacted by my business partner in XcoMedia because he and Jason had been talking. Jason was unhappy with his current arrangement and was asking my partner if we were interested in collaborating with him on a series of titles that Jason would have creative control over. Jason was particularly interested in having creative control of the first title in which he would bottom. Of course we said we’d love to work with him on such an arrangement.

2. In April of this year I flew to San Francisco and shot stills of Jason for the re-launch of his site, JasonAdonis.com, which, as part of our agreement with Jason, Bannon Media was taking over the management of. It was my first time to meet and work with Jason, and he was very generous with his time and very active in giving ideas to the process of the photo shoot.

3. A few weeks later, we re-launched JasonAdonis.com and started planning the production of the first video/DVD we would be working on together. The agreement was to shoot in the summer and take our time with editing while developing a promotional campaign (just like everyone does).

4. A few weeks after that I heard from my business partner that Jason had agreed to shoot a scene with Falcon while we finalized the production details for our own shoot.

5. Next thing I knew, there was a post on the Muscle Service Station Forums talking about Falcon’s big breaking story that Jason Adonis would be bottoming for the first time in their upcoming release.

6. My partner and I dropped the plans for the summertime production, and Jason went radio silent.

7. In September I got a call from my partner saying he and Jason had worked out a plan to shoot a very laid-back (what Jason was calling “live and direct”), no-edits, non-scripted video project over the next couple of weeks in San Francisco.

8. In mid-October I received the tapes from that shoot, which is ultimately the same project we had been in conversation with Jason about for over a year. We posted our pre-release reservation information, and the rest is history.

Here’s hoping for two great (but very different) projects being brought to the fans very soon!

Jim French’s Folio

I just got a wonderful note from Jim French, catching me up on what he’s been doing recently and mentioning the addition of some wondeful new content and features on his website — including the amazing Folio: a collection of never-before printed images of Carl Hardwick, John Pruitt, Jake Tanner, and more.

Talk about your fantasy gift! This is, IMHO, a once in a lifetime opportunity for any real hard core Jim French fan. Only 8 of these Folios will ever be available — and the images are of course amazing.
